Cornelia is dead †

The freshman med students got to her. She was killed in the name of science without any science.

Her passing was quiet and nobody noticed it in the Miko Gardens. Tragedies repeat themselves here on a daily basis — no bird fears death, death fears the bird. The fabric of life is the closest in this place, this is the hub of the wheel where preternatural cycle of birth, death and rebirth can be observed, the cleansing rhythm of the universe, to whom all birds and non birds are seductively drawn.

Cornelia is dead †

The only bird that noticed that she is gone was Hugo the Rooster, the rooster from Zoriilor. Cornelia used to stare at him almost every day. Everyone thought that she was admiring him, admiring his pecking and his crowing. The truth was that she knew him for years, and she knew his past.

Hugo used to be called the Golden Rooster, everyone admired him, everyone loved him, he was a poultry show rooster, eating only the best seeds, living only in the most luxurious coops. He was the pride of this owner until the war came. His owner lost everything, he had to give him away. He changed hands a few times and ended up with his current master, who forgot about him — just left him behind.

The years were cruel to him, getting older and older, losing his feathers, only feeding on worms that the grassless barren garden could offer, becoming weaker and weaker, nostalgia slowly eating away his soul.

No sparks of hope, no shooting stars on his sky, with his broken wings he will never fly.

Hugo wants to die †

Cornelia’s fate would be a blessing for him, unfortunately that fate is reserved only for the birds from the Miko Gardens, who are chained to the wheel of fate. The wheel keeps on turning, but Hugo is exempt, his soul will not spin on the wheel.

Another dawn, another demise, Hugo’s soul could be free if the sun would not rise.
